Challenge

A competition project for a desert site. The hotel had to be visible from kilometres away as a landmark and still sit in the landscape.

Approach

We started with a rough render to find the composition, then drew the final shot by hand over it and took the 3D from there. In the first image the pavilion glows at sunset above a dirt road. The second is set by a campfire at dusk, where the building almost disappears into the landscape.

Result

Two images that sold the idea before the architecture was worked out in detail.
